Rice chilla recipe without curd


Rice is one such staple grain that every Indian has in their house. This recipe requires Naya chawal that’s the rice used to make this chilla has to be fresh produce not a old one. We usually eat aged rice but for this recipe it’s totally different.

Rice chilla recipe was shared to me by my sister in law at her place and we all loved it. Got the recipe from her and now sharing with you guys.

So make this wholesome chilla for breakfast, lunch or dinner and life is sorted.

I have added grated cucumber in this batter one can have their own variations.

Here garlic is used in good amount for that thick on taste, this makes the chilla stand out. So don’t skip the garlic.

Garlic Rice Chilla

Ingredients

  • 2 cups rice ( not aged one)
  • 1 cup garlic paste/ green leaves or garlic pods
  • Half cup ginger
  • 5 to 6 green chilli
  • Half teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • 2 cups grated cucumber
  • water for grinding

Method

  • Soak rice for overnight
  • Next morning in a grinding jar add ginger, garlic , green chilli and rice grind this into fine paste. with a little water
  • Grate the cucumber and keep aside without squeezing the liquid.
  • In a mixing bowl add the rice batter, mix it with grated cucumber
  • Add salt and baking soda
  • Mix this well, the consistency has to a little thick
  • So that it’s easy to spread on the tawa
  • Heat the tawa and gently spread the chilla
  • Pour oil or ghee on the edges
  • Flip and cook on both the sides
  • Cook on medium flame
  • This chilla takes a little time cook
  • Give fews seconds for the cooking
  • Serve it some coconut chutney
