Lahori Paneer Recipe


A vegetarian paneer recipe to indulge on any occasion.

This recipe is an all time hit for the paneer lovers. Can be made in just 15 minutes without much of ingredients.

This dish is a famous lahori recipe so the name. Lahore is a famous city in Pakistan.

As I said cooking this dish doesn’t require much of a time. This is a thick and creamy paneer recipe.

Lahori Paneer Recipe

Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoon oil
  • 2 tablespoon ghee
  • 1 cup cubed paneer
  • Half stick dalchini/ cinnamon
  • 2 cloves
  • 2 black pepper corn
  • 1 green elaichi/ Cardamom
  • 1 black cardamom
  • 1 bay leaf/ tez patta
  • 1 cup onion finely chopped
  • 2 cups tomatoes chopped
  • 1 tablespoon Ginger-garlic paste
  • 1/2 teaspoon haldi powder
  • 1/2 cup curd/ dahi
  • 1/2 teaspoon chaat masala
  • 1 teaspoon kasuri methi
  • 1 teaspoon tomato sauce
  • 1 teaspoon coriander powder
  • 2 teaspoon salt or as per taste
  • 1 teaspoon kashmiri red chilli powder
  • 1 teaspoon garam masala powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon jeera/ cumin powder
  • 1 cup water

Method

  • Heat a non-stick pan with little ghee and oil, saute paneer till golden brown in colour. Remove on a kitchen towel. Keep aside
  • Same pan pour ghee and oil a bit more add the khada masala given ie. Tej patta, dalchini, cloves, black pepper corn, black and green cardamom. Saute this
  • Now add in the chopped onions cook till translucent, then add ginger garlic paste saute till the raw smell is gone.
  • Add tomatoes Cook till mushy
  • Add in the haldi, chaat masala, coriander powder, red chilli powder, garam masala powder, jeera powder mix this well
  • Now this mixture turns dry pour in the curd cook on low flame till oil oozes out from sides, add tomato sauce and mix
  • Add water to desired consistency if required, then add kasuri methi with salt
  • Place the fried paneer in gravy and top it with cream
  • This lahori paneer gravy is thick and spicy, you can adjust accordingly.
