Ingredients For Kofta
- 1 boiled potato
- 2 boiled raw banana
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 1-2 green chillies, finely chopped
- A handful of coriander leaves
- 1/2 tsp chaat masala
- 1/2 tsp amchur powder
- 1/4 tsp kala namak
- Salt to taste
- 1/2 tsp cumin seeds
- Oil for deep frying
Ingredients for Gravy
- 2-3 tbsp oil
- Ginger-garlic paste
- 2 onions, chopped
- 4-5 green chillies
- 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
- 1 tsp garam masala
- 1 tsp kashmirir red chilli powder
- 1 tbsp gram flour( besan)
- salt to taste
- water as needed
Instructions
Make the Koftas
- Mash the boiled raw bananas and potato while warm
- Add chopped onion, green chillies, coriander powder, cumin seeds, turmeric powder, chaat masala, amchur powder. coriander leaves, kala namak and salt.
- Mix well to form a smooth dough-like mixture.
- Shape small round koftas.
- Deep fry on medium heat until golden and crispy.
- Set aside on a tissue to maintain crunch.
Prepare the Gravy
- Heat oil in a pan and add ginger-garlic. saute until fragnant.
- Add onions and cook until golden.
- Add tomatoes and green chillies, cook until soft.
- Mix in turmeric, garam masala, kashmiri chilli powder and salt.
- Add gram flour and roast briefly to remove raw taste.
- Pour in water and stir to make a smooth gravy.
- Simmer for 5–7 minutes.
Final Assembly
- Add koftas just before serving to keep them crispy.
- Garnish with fresh coriander.
- Serve hot with roti, naan, paratha, or rice.
Tips
- For softer koftas, add them 10–15 minutes before serving.
- For crispy koftas, add them at the table
