How to make Condensed milk/ milkmaid recipe


Until you try, you really won’t know,that making milkmaid is so easy and quick. Till date,i mean since my childhood i have seen my mother use milkmaid/Condensed milk for her cakes and sweets and didn’t know how easy making this was.Not much ingredients involved in this and you get exactly the same Nestle milkmaid taste except for chemical used in them.I know after seeing the recipe you all will start making milkmaid at home do give it a try and you will be happy. Cooking makes you learn so many things and one starts craving for more knowledge aswell.I am loving my work so much as the days are passing by,though still new to many thinks but i am a learner. Without saying much lets get the recipe..

Ingredients

  • 500 ml milk
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 pinch baking powder or baking soda

Method

  • Take a wok or kadai
  • Pour in the milk with the sugar
  • Boil on low flame till the milk thickens
  • After 15 to 20 minutes you will notice that the milk has started to turn yellow
  • Keep boiling for half hour while continuously stirring

  • Once it is thick enough off the flame
  • Now add in one pinch of baking powder and mix it well
  • You will notice white froth on top thats ok
  • Let it cool down completely
  • Keep stirring in between while its cooling
  • The white froth will disappear as it has cooled

  • There you go your home made Milkmaid/Condensed milk is ready
  • Use them in your desserts and Indian mithai or kheer
  • Can be stored in refrigerator for a month
