Ghee Rice Tadka recipe


Believe me this is such a soulful dish which is satisfying to the stomach and heart.

No fuss in making, quick in making and the best part is when you have nothing in mind for that quick hunger of your child, just give the ghee rice and they won’t crib. Healthy and homemade. What better can you ask for.

I have made this with homemade ghee which made ghee rice more yummy.

As you might see that I prefer no fuss making recipes, this one comes under that category. Usually when my kids would demand for ghee I would always give be just ghee rice, but from few years back they started to ask for Tadka on it, so now it’s a hit. Well they are in their teens now so I need keep innovating my tricks😃

I can say mostly in Indian household every child must have eaten ghee rice if not in their teens then as a toddler 100%

This dish can be made with freshly cooked or leftover ones. Choice is completely yours.

Ghee Rice Tadka

Ghee Rice Tadka

Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoon ghee
  • 1 teaspoon mustard seed
  • 2 dry red chilli
  • 3 to 4 curry leaves
  • Half teaspoon chana dal
  • Half teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup cooked rice

Method

  • Take a fry pan pour generous amount of ghee
  • Once it comes to smoking point off the flame
  • Add mustard seed let it crackle
  • Then add in curry leaves, dry red chilli, chana dal let it turn light brown
  • On the flame now add in salt and rice.
  • Mix the well
  • Serve it hot
