Cooking drumsticks are quite simple, just scratch the skin to make it soft and for easy cooking also.

We all love drumsticks in our sambhars and dal but today is a special recipe of curry which I thought won’t be liked by my kids, but to my surprise they loved it. So sharing with you this simple and basic drumsticks curry recipe.

Moringa pods or drumsticks they are full of minerals and protein.

Drumstick curry Recipe
Ingredients
- 2 cups drumsticks
- 2 tablespoon oil
- Half teaspoon jeera/ cumin seeds
- Half teaspoon rai/ mustard seed
- 1 bay leaf
- 2 onions chopped
- 4 to 5 garlic
- 3 green chilli
- 1 teaspoon ginger
- 1 cup tomatoes chopped
- 1 tablespoon kasuri methi
- Half teaspoon haldi powder
- 2 teaspoon coriander powder
- Half teaspoon red chilli powder
- 1 teaspoon kashmiri red chilli powder
- 1 cup curd
- 2 cups water
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon garam masala powder
- Coriander leaves
Method
- In a mixer jar add ginger, garlic and green chilli with little water grind to fine paste.
- Now, take a pan pour oil let it heat up, now add in bay leaf let them crackle, then add in mustard with cumin.
- Add chopped onions, saute till cooked
- Add in kasuri methi, give it a good mix
- Pour in the grinded paste of garlic, ginger and green chilli
- Cook till the raw aroma of the paste is gone
- Add in chopped tomatoes, cook till soft
- Once the tomatoes are done add in kashmiri red chilli powder, red chilli powder, coriander powder, haldi powder. Fix it well. Pour little water to avoid burning of masala
- Pour in curd and cook on low flame.
- Add drumsticks with some water
- Now add salt and garam masala
- Cover and cook for 5 minutes
- Garnish with coriander leaves and enjoy.
